The application has been denied!

It has been three months since we started this GoFundMe, and what a three months it has been. In that time, this community has come together in ways that have been incredibly meaningful to us. Residents showed up, researched, volunteered, donated, shared information, attended meetings and hearings, supported one another, and stood together to protect Browndale Mountain in our beautiful home in Clinton Township.

Now, we finally have a moment to celebrate, and we absolutely should.

For those who may not know us, we want to take a moment to introduce ourselves. What began with concern about a major development proposal has grown into something much bigger: a community committed to protecting our land, water, environment, rural character, and quality of life for the long term. Thus the creation of Save Browndale Mountain!

So, What Happens Now?

The denial of the application is an important victory, but the work does not end with one decision. The past several months required significant legal and professional work. Our attorneys and experts spent countless hours reviewing documents, preparing for meetings and hearings, responding to developments, and helping our community navigate an incredibly complex process.

We need to remain prepared for what comes next — including any potential appeals, future development proposals, planning and zoning matters, environmental concerns, and other issues that could affect Browndale Mountain and throughout Clinton Township.

That means we need to continue raising funds. On the GoFundMe, we have raised nearly $29,600, and we are incredibly grateful for every person who has helped get us here. We are working toward an immediate goal of $35,000, while increasing our overall fundraising goal to over $70,000, so we can continue building the resources needed for the long-term work ahead.

We are not raising money for just one application. We are building the resources to protect our community for the long term. Funds support legal counsel, land-use and planning professionals, environmental experts, filings, expert analysis, and other necessary expenses connected to our mission.

Three Months. One Important Victory. A Lot More Work Ahead. We know this community has given generously. We know these past three months have asked a lot from everyone. So today, we want to simply say thank you! Thank you for trusting us! Thank you for standing with us! Thank you for believing that Clinton Township is worth protecting!

Let's take a moment to celebrate what we accomplished together.

Then we'll keep going.

We are grateful for this community!

We are not done.
